3 Easy Steps on How to Overcome Fear of Flight

There was a point in my life where I was scared to death of stepping foot on a plane. The lingering thought of getting in a plane crash was enough to make me miss out on countless opportunities. Even though we have heard every statistic in the book about the safety of flying, it is still scary and doesn't sit well with our stomachs. Luckily, it doesn't have to be this way.

First Step - Find the source of your anxiety

Some of us fear of a plane crash, like I did. Others may be afraid of a terrorist hijacking. There are many reasons why we are scared to fly. What you must realize is that their is nothing wrong with the planes or pilot. The source of your anxiety comes from a distrust in your mind. Your mind is the reason why you are scared - this means that you can fix it!

Second Step - You can fix this...

You control your mind, therefore you have the ability to eliminate your anxiety. Having trouble with air travel is not a mental illness or disease... It is simply a common anxiety that is easily heightened by Hollywood and other sources of misleading images.

Third Step - You must assess what is reasonable to worry about.

The real problems you should worry about when flying are things like long lines at the ticket counter, ticket prices, the possibility of lost luggage, or what movie they are playing on the plane. Statistics prove that the chance of you dying on a plane is 1 in 9 billion. It is impossible to even fly on this many planes in a lifetime.

I would never want you to miss out on the amazing things that air travel can bring you. If you want to find out more methods on ridding your anxiety of flying, check out these great sites.
